EmberFocus does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. There are no accounts and no servers — everything stays on your device.
EmberFocus is an offline focus timer that logs your study sessions and tracks the minutes, streaks and milestones on your device. The pages that follow describe, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with the things you type into it.
None. EmberFocus has no sign-up, no account and no backend of its own, so there is nothing for us to collect and nothing is ever sent to us. The only text that resembles personal information is an optional display name on the profile screen; it is written to your device's local storage and never leaves it.
For the app to work, the following is kept in the operating system's local storage, on your phone, and nowhere else:
None of it is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes every byte.
None. The Android manifest requests no permissions at all — no internet, camera, location, microphone, contacts or storage access. The vibrate-on-finish option uses the operating system's built-in haptic feedback, which needs no permission. The only manifest entry beyond the launcher activity is the standard Flutter text-processing query used by the system text-selection menu.
There is none. EmberFocus makes no HTTP requests, opens no sockets and contacts no server; it does not even hold the Android INTERNET permission. The timer, the stats, the charts and the milestones all run entirely on-device, so the app works exactly the same in airplane mode.
No analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDK is integrated — there is no Firebase, no AdMob, no Crashlytics or anything comparable. The packages the app uses (Hive and shared_preferences for local storage, Provider for state, fl_chart for the stats screen, and share_plus) are all on-device libraries. share_plus is only used when you tap Share on the profile screen: it hands a short summary to your operating system's share sheet, and whichever app you then pick handles it under its own privacy policy.
EmberFocus is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data whatsoever, there is nothing that could be gathered from a child under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), so it complies with COPPA and GDPR-K by design. We do not knowingly hold personal information about anyone.
Since no data ever reaches us, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase on your behalf — you already have full control. You can edit or delete any subject inside the app, and clearing the app's storage from your device settings or uninstalling EmberFocus permanently removes every subject, session, statistic, milestone and preference described above. Note that this also means your history is not backed up to any cloud: an uninstall is irreversible.
If anything in this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be revised, and material changes will appear in the app's release notes.
