FestivalPlay
FestivalPlay is an offline puzzle game about joining every pair of jacks on a switchboard without crossing a cord. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
FestivalPlay does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.
Information we collect
None. FestivalPlay has no account system, no sign-in, no registration form, and no contact form. You are never asked for a name, an email address, a phone number, or any other identifier, and the app has no way to ask for one later. Nothing you type or tap is sent anywhere.
Data stored on your device
To make the app work, FestivalPlay stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:
- Board progress — which switchboards you have completed, the cord layout of a board you left half-finished, and the moves needed to restore it when you come back.
- Play records — per-board completion times, move counts and star ratings, stored in a local SQLite database on the device.
- Settings — your preferences for sound, haptics, colour assist and animation speed.
- Totals and awards — lifetime counts (boards solved, cords laid, sessions played) and the badges derived from them, computed from the records above rather than tracked separately.
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to FestivalPlay or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.
Permissions
None. The Android manifest declares no runtime permissions at all — no camera, no location, no microphone, no contacts, no photo library, no storage access. The app never presents a permission prompt because it never needs one.
Network use
FestivalPlay contains no networking code. There is no HTTP client, no socket, no web view and no remote endpoint anywhere in the app, so there is nothing for it to talk to. It runs identically in airplane mode and on a device that has never been online. The one place the app hands data outside itself is the system share sheet: if you choose to share a result card, your device's own sharing UI takes it from there, and where it goes is entirely your choice.
Third-party services
None. FestivalPlay integrates no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter, no attribution or A/B testing service, and no in-app purchase or billing library. Its dependencies are limited to the Flutter framework and local-only utility packages for state management, local database storage, date formatting, layout and the system share sheet. No third party receives data from this app because no data leaves it.
Children's privacy
FestivalPlay is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal information whatsoever, it does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK) — or from anyone else. There is no advertising, no user-to-user communication, no user-generated content shared between players, and no purchases, so the safeguards those features would require do not apply.
Your rights
Because everything the app stores stays on your own device, you hold it directly. You can erase all of it at any time by clearing the app's data in your device settings or by uninstalling FestivalPlay — that removes the local database, your settings and every record described above, permanently and completely. There is no server-side copy to request, correct, export or delete, and no account to close. If you have a question about this policy, write to us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
